Nutricia is again present at this year’s ESPEN Congress on clinical nutrition and metabolism with a satellite symposium entitled ‘A patient centered approach for optimal nutritional care – The journey to recovery’. ESPEN takes place from 1-4 September in Madrid. Please visit our booth (no 43).
Nutricia Satellite Symposium
ESPEN’s theme ‘Nutrition without borders’ expresses the interest to explore new clinical nutrition topics, in different clinical settings. To reinforce and build on the ESPEN theme, Nutricia is sponsoring the satellite symposium ‘A patient centered approach for optimal nutritional care – The journey to recovery’. The Symposium will take place on the 2nd of September, 18:00~19:30, at IFEMA in the Plenary Hall 8. Chair Dr. Maria Ballesteros, Endocrinologist from Spain will chair the meeting, hosting three international experts:
- Dr. Arthur van Zanten (NL) will present about the importance of protein delivery and optimization of protein balance in the critical care patient, encompassing recent publications on this area
- Prof. Elisabeth De Waele (BE) will follow on from Dr. Van Zanten’s presentation to speak on importance of timing in protein delivery for those patients who have stepped down from the ICU into the ward setting
- Finally, Prof. Paul Wischmeyer (US) will present about the importance of the continuum of nutritional care post discharge and embedding nutrition from recovery and beyond.
