Inborn errors of metabolism (IEMs) include a large number of rare genetic diseases that affect the body’s ability to break down particular nutrients in food. If left untreated, IEMs can lead to a harmful build-up of certain biochemical metabolites resulting in delays in physical and/or mental development. Danone Research & Innovation has been pioneering within the field of IEM for over 50 years. It is through this commitment to ongoing research that we have gained a broad and deep understanding of IEM patients and their needs, learning more each day about how we can contribute throughout their life journey.
“At Danone Research & Innovation, it is our vision to be the leading and trusted lifetime partner for all people with inborn errors of metabolism, inspiring them to reach their potential and fulfil their dreams. Everything we do as part of our research programme is based on clear patient insights and is carried out in collaboration with healthcare professionals.”
